WHO CAN ATTEND?
Middle and high school students who've recently completed grades 6-12. WHO IS ORGANIZING THIS? a planning team of students, staff, and adult volunteers with the Chinese Bible Church of Maryland (CBCM) BUT WHO'S IN CHARGE? Dorothy Lau (CBCM), Steve Eatmon (CBCM), and Andy Huang (REM), with adult volunteers from CBCM, the Chinese Christian Union Church, and Rockville Evangelical Mission. WHO'S THE SPEAKER? There are two: Andy Huang, Youth Minister @ REM and Steve Eatmon, Youth Pastor @ CBCM. WHAT'S THERE TO DO? Aside from organized fellowship time and 3 large group sessions--"plenaries" of worship, message, small group discussion--Joy El has a variety of amenities and other activities. Check it out here! AND THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS? Students will be grouped into multiple, single-sex cabins (according to middle and high school clusters) with respective, adult supervision. Health & SafetyWHAT ABOUT COVID-19 VACCINATIONS?
All students and staff attendees must be fully vaccinated (two shots) to participate--completed two weeks prior to camp (July 1). A booster, though recommend, is not required. ANY OTHER HEALTH PRECAUTIONS IN-PLACE? All attendees must provide proof of a COVID-negative test within 72 hours (3 days) of the student's arrival. Send a time-stamped record or picture of a negative COVID test to tgcbcm@gmail.com between 4 PM of Tuesday, 7/12 to Friday, 7/15. This may be shown at check-in, too. The wearing of face masks is recommended when in crowded indoor spaces, though optional otherwise. IF A STUDENT EXHIBITS SIGNS OF ILLNESS @ CAMP... he/she is to immediately report to the camp directors, where the student will be administered a COVID-19 rapid test and/or be subject to be relocated isolated lodging or be picked-up from camp. WHAT IF I HAVE MEDICATIONS? All participants should bring whatever medications they require, which includes EpiPens. Ensure they are accessible and within in-reach. (I.e., store those in a backpack or equivalent rather than packing in a luggage.) |

Electronic (Zelle) WHAT ELSE DO PARTICIPANTS NEED TO SUBMIT? - COVID-19 Vaccination Record (required) - Joy El's Waiver Release Form (optional: for zipline) o Parents: Complete page 1 if the student is a minor o Participants age 18+: Complete page 2 Complete and send the above to tgcbcm@gmail.com by Friday, July 15. Hard-copies of documents may be presented upon 7/15 check-in @ CBCM. TransportationHOW ARE STUDENTS GETTING TO/FROM CAMP?
Because we are first-time clients with Joy El, they will provide (2) school buses for our students. WHEN/WHERE DO WE MEET FOR...? - Drop-off is from 4-5 PM, CBCM - Pick-up is after 3:30 PM, CBCM CAN PARENTS DRIVE THEIR STUDENTS TO CAMP? Yes, but only given advance notice to the directors. It is otherwise assumed that all students will travel to/from camp on the Friday and Sunday school buses, provided by Joy El. Should be suitable and appropriate for worshiping God and to not impede others' ability to worship. Clothing is subject to staff approval, and attendees may be asked to change if need be. Students, please use your better judgment. Modest swimwear, please. |
